We are proud to support Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4 2026.  powerful charity initiative aiming to change the perception of living with Stage 4 cancer while raising vital funds for research and support. We are delighted to host this special Car Track Night at Knockhill, with all money received from this event donated directly to the Tour de 4 2026 nominated charities which are: 💖 Breast Cancer Now, 💖 Cure Leukaemia, 💖 Macmillan Cancer Support and 💖 Maggie’s & Prostate Cancer UK.  

 

Making the evening even more special, Sir Chris Hoy will be with us on the night and will also be driving on track.

 

Join us for a memorable evening of driving at Scotland’s national motorsport centre, with two hours of open pitlane track action in support of a truly important cause. With no fixed sessions, you are free to head out when you are ready and enjoy your car at your own pace in a safe, controlled environment.

Whether you are an experienced trackday driver looking to sharpen your skills, or newer to the circuit and keen to discover what your car can really do, Knockhill provides the perfect setting. Fast straights, technical corners and dramatic elevation changes combine to create a thrilling and rewarding challenge from the first lap to the last.

Passengers aged 14+ and at least 135cm tall can also accompany drivers on track for £25 per passenger, with places arranged and paid for on the evening.

Arrive from 5pm for registration before heading out for two hours of uninterrupted track action.

About the Tour de 4 charity cycle event

Tour de 4 2026 will be to be returning to Glasgow, on Sunday 6th September 2026 where the inaugural event was held in 2025 raising over £3 million. Check out the website for further information and how and when you can sign up.

Driver Equipment Requirements

Your safety on track is our top priority, and having the right gear is essential for a safe and enjoyable experience.

 

Essential Car Trackday Clothing

 

    • All drivers and passengers must wear a suitable clothing to ensure that they have their legs covered at all times whilst on circuit.
    • Drivers and passengers should all wear crash helmets (which may be hired on the day) that comply with current Motorsport UK/FIA/ACU/FIM standards.
    • In the case of open top vehicles, drivers must wear a full-face helmet) that complies with current Motorsport UK/FIA/ACU/FIM standards.

 

Filming

For those wanting to record their experience, any filming equipment must be secured inside the vehicle and may be inspected prior to track session.  Hand held or helmet cameras are NOT permitted.

By following these requirements, you’ll be fully prepared for a safe, fun, and memorable visit to Knockhill.

Licence Requirements

To take part in a trackday, all drivers must hold one of the following valid licences and comply with the relevant regulations:

 

Licence Requirements – What You Need to Drive

 

✅ DVLA Road Licence – You must have a full, unrestricted licence (not provisional). Your licence must be valid and issued by the DVLA or the equivalent licensing authority if you’re from outside the UK.  The appropriate category must be clearly indicated on the licence.

 

🚫 No Licence = No Track Driving– You must bring your licence on the day so our team can check it before you head out on track.

Car Specification

Vehicle Requirements 

 

✅ Road Cars – Your vehicle must meet MOT minimum standards for road use or comply with MSA’s current safety regulations for track cars. It should be in good mechanical and body condition, ensuring it’s fit for track use. Additionally, cars must be equipped with a towing eye for safety purposes.

 

✅ Seatbelts – All cars, regardless of age, must have working seatbelts.

 

✅ Ongoing Maintenance – It’s your responsibility to ensure your car remains in a safe and roadworthy condition throughout the event, in the interest of your safety and that of others on track.

 

🚫 Open-Wheel & Single-Seaters – These vehicles are not permitted on car trackdays.

Passengers

🧑‍🤝‍🧑🏼 Want to Bring a Passenger?

 

Share the thrill of your trackday by bringing a passenger along for the ride! 

 

Passengers must be at least 14 years old and a minimum height of 135cm (4'5"). It’s a fantastic way to let a friend or family member experience the excitement from the passenger seat.  Passenger passes are just £25 and can be purchased on the day. 

All money received from this Car Track Night on 14th May 2026 at Knockhill Racing Circuit will be donated directly to the charity.

Please note:  All passengers are required to sign an indemnity form before going on track.

Cancellations and Non-Attendance

🚫 As this is a charity event, all bookings are non-refundable.

If you can no longer attend, a replacement driver may take your place up until the event begins, provided they meet the Car Trackday requirements listed on this page.

Track Formats

The Only Circuit in the UK with Twin Track Action!

 

Knockhill is the only circuit in the UK licenced to run in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions, offering riders two distinct track experiences, each with its own unique challenges and thrills.  This session will operate in a Clockwise formation.

 

Clockwise

The classic Knockhill experience! Exit the pitlane to your left and charge down to Duffus Dip, one of the most notorious corners in UK motorsport.

 

Anti-Clockwise

Same venue, new track! Enter the pitlane and turn right, where the final corner becomes the first, kicking off your session with a dive into the famous hairpin.

 

Twin Track – A UK Exclusive!

Why settle for one track when you can ride two? Start your day riding anti-clockwise, break for a relaxing lunch, then hit the track again in the familiar clockwise formation for a completely different experience, all in the same day!

Car Trackday Night

Here’s everything you need to know about attending an Open Pitlane Car Track Night at Knockhill Racing Circuit.

 

🕗 Arrival & Sign-On

  • Registration opens at 5pm, 
  • Bring your licence for checking on arrival.
  • You’ll receive a wristband, this must be worn at all times to access the track.
  • Show your wristband to the pit lane marshal before each session.
  • Late arrivals will be signed in at the earliest opportunity but may miss some track time.

 

🏁 Trackday Format

  • Open Pit Lane means you can join the track at any time during the Night.

 

🚦 Track Stoppages

  • While we aim to maximise your track time, some stoppages are inevitable.
  • Our team will restart the session as soon as it’s safe to do so.

 

🔊 Noise Limits

  • The circuit operates a strict 105db noise limit.

 

🎥 Filming & Drones

  • Helmet cams are strictly prohibited.
  • Any filming equipment must be secured inside the vehicle and may be inspected prior to track session.  Hand held or helmet cameras are NOT permitted
  • Filming is NOT allowed on race weekends.
  • Drones are completely forbidden anywhere on-site.

 

🏍️ Paddock & Pit Lane Conduct

  • Be aware of other drivers and pedestrians.
  • Drivers are responsible for their own safety and those around them.
  • The pit lane is strictly one-way – enter via the holding area.
  • No refuelling or fuel storage is allowed in the pit lane.

 

⛽ Fuel

  • We do not sell fuel at the circuit. Please fill up on your way to Knockhill.

 

🍔 Food & Refreshments

  • Kinnairds Restaurant or The Paddock Café & Bar will be open for sit-in and takeaway food.
