Snetterton delivered a masterclass from Bradley Ray in Round 3 of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship, as the Yamaha rider achieved a dominant treble of wins, marking his second consecutive hat-trick after his similar performance at Donington Park. Ray's exceptional form saw him top every session he participated in, culminating in him winning the "Race of Aces" trophy for the most points scored over the weekend.
Race 1 saw Ray establish an early lead and pull away for a comfortable 5.3-second victory. Reigning champion Kyle Ryde secured a strong second place, with Tommy Bridewell completing the podium in third, marking his and Honda's first podium of the season. Notably, preseason favourite Glenn Irwin was a significant absentee, ruled out indefinitely after sustaining fractures to his hip socket and pelvis in a free practice crash.
In a slightly closer Race 2, Ray once again dictated the pace, crossing the line 3.7 seconds ahead of Rory Skinner. Bridewell continued his consistent podium run, securing third place just two-tenths of a second behind Skinner after a thrilling battle for position.
The final race of the weekend, Race 3, provided the closest fight at the front, with Ray ultimately taking the win by 1.678 seconds from a much-improved Kyle Ryde. Ryde's pace kept Ray honest, but the Yamaha rider couldn't quite bridge the gap Ray built early on. The real drama unfolded behind them in a fierce multi-rider battle for the final podium spot. Leon Haslam ultimately emerged victorious from a captivating scrap with Tommy Bridewell and Rory Skinner, securing his first top-three finish of the weekend by a mere 0.074 seconds over Bridewell.
Ray's triple victory further solidifies his commanding lead in the championship standings, now on 140 points. Kyle Ryde's strong weekend has elevated him to second with 110 points, while Leon Haslam's consistent performance at Snetterton sees him climb to third with 102 points. Despite his absence, Glenn Irwin remains in fourth on 74 points, with Rory Skinner drawing level with him, also on 74 points. Tommy Bridewell's productive weekend has moved him to sixth in the standings with 73 points.
The championship now moves north for Round 4 at the demanding and undulating Knockhill circuit in Scotland, from July 4th to 6th. This tightly packed, technical circuit is a favourite amongst riders and fans alike, promising close racing and unpredictable outcomes. With Ray's current dominance, the rest of the field will be desperate to break his winning streak, while riders like Ryde and Haslam will be aiming to close the points gap. The short, sharp nature of Knockhill often throws up surprises, and with the championship battle heating up, fans can expect another thrilling weekend of British Superbike action.
