Leslie makes emotional debut as Reid storms to Mini victory

Graham Leslie, eldest son of the late great David Leslie made a great racing debut today (Saturday 26th September) at Knockhill. Despite a break down in the first race, his smile after the second race said it all. Graham said “I’ve had such a fabulous weekend. Everyone has been so supportive and helpful and there is nowhere else I would rather have had my first race”

In the FFDR Mini Cooper Cup, superstar Anthony Reid lived up to his status as one on the fastest and most versatile drivers around by winning the third and final race of the day. Starting second and falling back to fourth at one stage, he battled his way through to take a commanding victory after one of the best Mini races ever seen which included one driver rolling yet able to select first gear and continue racing! Circuit Director Stuart Gray said; “What a race, what a driver and what a way to end a great days motor sport. Anthony has mastered the Mini and pulled a number of master class tricks to win and I’m sure all the drivers are impressed with his raw speed and race craft. Graham was a star too. To want to start racing and put in such a solid performance was a credit to him and the whole Leslie family.”
