Proton will confirm this week who will partner Lanark’s Alister McRae in the manufacturer’s assault on both the Asia-Pacific Rally Championship and the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
McRae, who finished second in last year’s RallyScotland in his Proton Satria S2000, is expected to be joined by either World Rally winner, Belgian Francois Duval, or former Subaru factory driver, Chris Atkinson from New Zealand.
“I think the second place on RallyScotland made people realise we have a good car,” team principal Chris Mellors said today. “I really think we can get some more good results if we get the breaks.”
