Shedden gets Honda seat for BTCC

Fifer Gordon Shedden will return to the British Touring Car Championship this year in a works-backed Honda Civic. The Dalgety Bay driver will partner double BTCC champ Matt Neal in the new Honda Racing team.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for me,” Shedden, a multiple race winner in BTCC and who finished on the podium at last year’s triple-header at Knockhill, said today.

“The Swindon-built Civic is a well-proven package and the current model has undergone significant aerodynamic revisions over the winter, so we know we’re going to be quick. We’ll be pushing for race wins right from the start of the season.”

The cars, which this year have received increased support from Honda UK, will be run by Team Dynamics. The season gets underway at Thruxton on April 4, with the Scottish round taking place at Knockhill on September 5.
