Scottish Championship racing starts off in style

After a week long weather scare the 2010 Scottish Championship Bike Racing season kicked off at Knockhill today.

There was plenty of intrigue as changeable weather conditions caused some tyre choice dilemmas for all competitors. Even up to the final races of the day, competitors took additional time before races to switch tyres.

There was some fantastic racing throughout the day but Danderhall’s Michael Robertson took most of the plaudits. The John Lind Racing rider took four sensational wins out of four races driving both a Suzuki GSXR1000 in the Premier class and a Yamaha R6 in the Superstock 600 class. Robertson, who collected a massive 100pts split between both classes commented.

“It was touch and go in the last race and but l never looked back once, l’ve got to be delighted with my performance this weekend, it’s a great start to the season and it’s a great foundation to kick on from.”

Knockhill welcomes Michael and his fellow competitors back to the circuit on Sunday 2nd May. Tickets are available by calling the circuit on 01383 723337 or can be purchased on the day.

We look forward to seeing you back at Knockhill for some fantastic racing action. We’ve posted some pictures from today’s racing on the Knockhill Facebook, so sign up and let’s hear your comments about today’s bike racing. Or sign up right here on the blog and give us your feedback!
