Flash starts 10th at Silverstone

Fifer Gordon Shedden, whose Team Honda Civic was carrying 27kg success ballast after his win a fortnight ago at Snetterton, struggled to qualify a disappointing 10th at Silverstone for tomorrow’s British Touring Car Championship triple-header.

“We always knew it was going to be tough this weekend,” Flash, whose best lap of 1min 0.922secs was 1.263s off the pole time of Ford’s Tom Onslow-Cole, admitted today. “We’re in for a tough weekend.”

Championship leader Jason Plato’s Chevrolet outqualified his main rival, Shedden’s team-mate Matt Neal. The duo line up fourth and fifth respectively.
