Dates approved for Knockhill Club bike race meetings

Following a meeting of the Scottish Auto Cycle Union last night, the Committee of the newly formed Knockhill Motor Sports Club can now confirm the 4 dates of the bike race meetings at Knockhill as;

APRIL 24th,          MAY 8th,            JUNE 25th              SEPTEMBER 25th

Knockhill Club Chairman Stuart Gray said, “We are delighted that the next stage of the Club hosting its own meeting has been ratified by the governing body. Our meetings will be the only bike events at Knockhill in 2011 in addition to the BSB on June 15th – 17th, the national Classic Club on 4th/5th June and the North East Motorcycle Club on July 23rd/24th. We are especially looking forward to the June event as it comes only 6 days after the Superbike meeting and we will be having a special promotion at the BSB to encourage spectators to return to see some of the best racers in Scotland. We are hoping as a consequence, the racers could be performing in front of one of the biggest crowds seen in recent years for a meeting of this level”.

Stuart added, “I am delighted with the amount of interest shown so far in announcing the formation of the Club from the whole racing scene in Scotland, and beyond. The dates confirmation is the next stage, and the next involving interested riders, officials and marshals, is the hosting of an OPEN MEETING on January 23rd at 3.30pm in the Clubhouse at Knockhill. At the meeting, the Club representatives will outline the vision for the year, the event proposed event formats and other information about the Club. It is open to all, existing racers, new riders, interested potential Club members and we want to hear views on the racing scene at Knockhill so we can provide the best we can for the membership.

To register interest in attending the meeting and or racing at Knockhill in 2011, please email club@knockhill.co.uk and we will repond best we can, otherwise we look forward to wlecoming you to Knockhill on the 23rd of January.
