Attention all cyclists, the wait is almost over!

It’s been a long wait, but the 24 hour Cycle the World Challenge with ENABLE Scotland and Mark Beaumont is almost here. Everyone at Knockhill is looking forward to this unique fundraising event and we wish everyone well.

Without doubt the Knockhill Circuit will be a tough and demanding challenge for even the most hardy of cyclists. With a mixture of solo entrants and teams (x4) gunning for a chance to experience the all new Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, home of the 2014 Commonwealth Games cycling events, the action on track should be very interesting indeed.

There are a number of winning categories for the 24hr Cycle Challenge:

  • Top Fundraising Team
  • Top Solo Fundraiser
  • Most Laps Team (Mixed team)
  • Most Laps Team – Male
  • Most Laps Team Female
  • Most Laps Solo – Male
  • Most Laps Solo – Female

Riders are expected to arrive at the Circuit on Friday 5th October at 9am to register for the event. At 11am a timing-chip testing lap will be carried out to ensure that everyone’s cycling activity can be tracked correctly. The race will commence at approximately 12pm and continue through to 12pm on Saturday 6th October. There will be a host of support services on offer to cyclists including Showers, toilets, massage area, first aid support, mechanical support, viewing stands, pit lane, bike storage, 24hr water supply and energy powders for riders throughout the event.

Onsite camping facilities are also available but must be pre-booked in advance. You can read all the details via the Enable Scotland Cycle the World Challenge instruction document (Cycle_the_World_instructions)!
