Mum’s the word as McMurdo family return to Knockhill

Peebles racer Caroline McMurdo will return to competing at Knockhill Racing Circuit for the opening round of the SMRC season – The Jim Clark Memorial Meeting on Sunday 7th April. She will drive her rebuilt Austin A30 after a bad accident in last year’s season opener prevented her from competing for the rest of the season. Caroline races in the Scottish Classics Sports and Saloons Championship, competing against her husband Ian who drives an Austin A35, while daughter Stephanie races in the Celtic Speed Mini Cooper Cup.

Caroline said, “It has taken a lot of time, money and effort to put the car back together as it was effectively a complete rebuild.  Hopefully, lightning won’t strike twice and my little car will put a smile on a few faces this year.”

The Jim Clark Memorial Meeting marks the 45th Anniversary of Clark’s death. Racing starts at Knockhill at 11am and features Mini Coopers, Legends, Formula Fords, Classics, Modified Sports and Saloons, Ford Fiestas and the new Marangoni Tyres Scottish BMW Compact Cup.
