KMSC Bike Racing to make more of Scotland’s 3rd Circuit

In response to rider feedback and interest, the Knockhill Motor Sports Club has decided to run two of the four KMSC & Scottish Championship Bike Racing Events on the Reverse Circuit this year.

This will offer a balance of configurations at Knockhill; and with East Fortune, provide a true test for man (or woman) and machine over three circuits in Scotland.

Knockhill has been licensed and previously hosted reverse direction events in the 70’s and 80’s; but after a lengthy gap, racing was re-introduced three seasons ago with one reverse direction event per season. With 50% of all the KMSC car events now successfully running both ways, the logical step has been to expand the number of bike events to match, giving each layout equal billing.

Knockhill Managing Director Jillian Shedden said “We have given Scotland a third bike racing track and it seems only right to give it equal billing as the traditional layout. It is an entirely different experience for the riders, and we know that for many, there is a preference for it over the established clockwise layout. We are confident this decision will add to the racing scene in Scotland.”

KMSC Chairman Stuart Gray added, “With all the developments at the track for riding in both directions, members feedback, and the aim of adding rider variety and interest, l’m sure this decision will offer a true test for competitors; over all three race tracks in Scotland.”
