Vehicle Mechanic Vacancy at Knockhill Racing Circuit

Knockhill Racing Circuit is seeking a mechanic to join the exciting and fast paced business.  The vacancy is in a small team of 2 mechanics looking after the fleet of vehicles and plant in use at the racing circuit, including:

Single seater racing cars with Yamaha engines

Subaru rally cars

Saloon cars

Vans

Small items of plant

The day to day tasks can include: Safety checks, cleaning and maintaining standards, engine repairs, steering repairs, tyre changing, tracing electrical faults, welding, MOT prep and servicing, fabricating.

Modern Workshop facilities include:

2 x Four Post Ramps

1 x Two Post Ramp

Single Seater lift

Tyre changing & balancing facilities

Welding facilities

The ideal candidate will be self motivated, a team player and a good problem solver with the ability to work under pressure.  Experience of motorcycle engines preferred but not essential.  A selection of tools are provided however it is expected the candidate will bring their own personal tool kit.

Qualified Mechanic

Terms:  Full time contract (subject to standard probationary period), the seasonal nature of the business does require a degree of flexibility, this includes regular weekend shifts, longer working hours in the summer (0730-1700 over 5 days), shorter hours in the winter (0900-1700 over 5 days).

Salary:  Up to £24,000 depending on experience
