Toyota bags pole at Le Mans

TOYOTA BAGGED THE bragging rights ahead of the 82nd running of the Le Mans 24-Hours when Kazuki Nakajima powered it to pole position for Saturday’s race, writes Jim McGill.

The former F1 racer set his fastest time in the early stages of the third qualifying session, lapping the 8.27-mile circuit — which winds its way through the French countryside normally by HGVs, cars and trucks — in 3mins 21.789secs. He was the only driver to duck below 3:22.
