Martha, who only passed her ARDS test last week, will take to the wheel of a 2litre Ford Fiesta ST at this weekend’s SMRC race meeting. Despite this being Martha’s first car racing experience at Knockhill, she has a wealth of competitive motorsport experience; having competed in the Scottish Cadet Cart Championship, Co-driven in the Snowman Rally with her uncle Walter Aiken in a historic Mk I Escort, and the Junior 1000 Rally Challenge. She also participated in the BTRDA Stage Rally Championship, winning the Ladies Cup in 2010.

“I’ve always been interested in motorsport, particularly Rallying. But the switch to racing at Knockhill on the 5th October is to give me some valuable experience ahead of a Woman Only – 40 strong grid – at Silverstone on 2nd November; making the race one of the biggest in the history of women’s motorsport.

“Looking ahead, I’m hoping to continue to progress my Rallying career and hope to take part on a number of the Scottish Rally Championship rounds next year!
