SLS Round 1 Summary – Classes C & D

Round 1 summary of the 2017 Super Lap Scotland Championship powered by Rockstar Energy Drink. This time focusing our attention on classes C and D. With both former Champions in these respective classes moving up to Classes B & C respectively, the slate was clean for everyone to lay down their Championship aspirations.

In Class C, the all-action Robbie Wyper was first to throw his hat into the ring, securing SLS Class C qualifying victory ahead of Blair McConachie in his daily driver and Keith Cowie (Class D Champion from 2016).

In Class D, Steven Jefferies managed to hold off the hard-charging Chris Cherry and Ian Bonthrone in his BMW E46 M3 for the qualification spoils. And, despite preferring to settle into a lap time, Jefferies managed to hold-firm in the single-lap final to take the overall Class D win as well on the day; with Bonthrone second and Cherry finishing in third place.

In the Class C final, Martyn Henry propelled himself to the first place with a lap-time of 57.607s in his Vauxhall Astra, taking top spot from Wyper, with Cowie back in third.
