The racing season returns this weekend with our first SMRC event of the year!
It’s time to go racing once again as we welcome the 2018 Scottish Championship race competitors to Knockhill this Sunday (8th April). As well as a shake up in drivers for 2018 with some new faces entering the fold; Sunday will see the baptism of a whole new Championship class – the BMW/Fiesta and Hot Hatch Championship. As the name suggests, a number of the current series will amalgamate together to form one championship, which should make for interesting viewing given the different vehicles involved.
Additionally, the event also marks our annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day – with all serving/veteran personnel receiving free entry and any accompanying family members gaining access to the event at the concessionary rate. SSAFA will also be on hand fundraising on behalf of soldiers, sailors, airmen and their families to help provide lifelong support.
On Sunday, the SMRC are also marking the 50th anniversary of Jim Clark’s death – details of this will be announced in due course.
Book your tickets now for a terrific action-packed day that will see a 14 race schedule take place and a FREE Classic Sports and Saloon grid walk take place during the lunch break – a brilliant way to get up close and personal with the racers, their vehicles and the Knockhill track before the afternoon’s racing recommences.
