So you are looking for that perfect gift for the racing fan in your life but don’t know what to get?
Well look no further, we have our Formula Race Car Experience (https://www.knockhill.com/experiences/racing-car-experience) which allows you to get out on track and let loose. 
What happens on the day?
We always ask that you arrive approx. 20mins prior to your booked experience time; this allows us to get you registered for your experience before the instructor comes to whisk you away for your safety briefing. This will give you a bit more information into the track, cars and what to expect out there. You will then head down into our Honda Civic Tyre Rs with one of our Race Instructors. They will put you at ease and give you all the info you need whilst undertaking your 4 laps track tuition whilst you take to the wheel. This teaches you the lines to take through the corners dependant on the weather on the day, your braking points and also allows you to get a feel for the track before heading out our the formula race cars. From there you will head out in our demo car where the Instructor then takes to the wheel. This is where they will demonstrate to you a lap of how to drive the track and then one of what not to do. In doing this it just shows what happens if you don’t follow the lines or you brake too early or late going into a corner and where to be positioned on the track for the best race line. Back in the pit lane where you will then head into our Formula Race Cars, you will be met by our pit crew who will get you settled into the Formula Race Car and go over how to operate it and make sure you are good to go before heading out on track.
You will head out from the pit lane garages going slowly waiting for the green light to head out on track for your 10 Laps. The Track is approx. 1.27 miles long. Out on track there will be other vehicles giving you the opportunity for over takes, however our team will be monitoring to ensure its all in good spirits. Once you’ve past the chequered flag you will continue round the track before heading into the pit lane where the pit crew will be waiting. This is a great chance for any friends and family that are with you on the day to get that first reaction once the helmet come off as to how much fun you had. Once the track action is over you will then head to our Marshalls Building in the pit lane for your debrief, before heading away with your personalised certificate as well as the potential to walk away with our driver of the day trophy (also available to buy in the shop at the circuit office J)
‘The race experience is a great chance to get out on track in a real race car, but it’s not all just about speed. If you listen to your instructor and use their tips you can get the most from your track time for quicker lines and better drive. There is no age limit either so long as they hold a full uk manual licence they can take part, so whether it’s for granny’s 70th birthday or that xmas treat for the kids who’ve just passed their test- everyone will get something out of it.’
