After a blistering debut season in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship that saw Tarran Mackenzie announce himself to Britian’s racing fraternity, the pint-sized Scot is eager for more success aboard his McAMS Yamaha in 2019.
A top ten finish in the series overall and a number of podiums – 4 in total – in 2018 have many tipsters looking at Mackanzie as a title prospect for the 2019 season.
“I can see why people are saying it. I had a great end to the season last year and the longer things went the easier it all became. A title shot will be difficult this year, more so than any other. There are some great riders in the series and a whole heap of new bikes… so it will be difficult but I’m up for the challenge.
“My main goal for the year will be to continue the progress from last year and if I can perhaps notch my first British Superbike win that would be amazing. The good thing is, me and Jason are in a good place right now and ready to roll this weekend,” said Taz.
Taz and the rest of the Mackenzie clan will be at the Knockhill round over the weekend of 28-30 June. We’re sure the home support will be out in force for all the teams and it will be great to see Mackenzie pit his wits against an exceptionally strong BSB field throughout 2019.
