KMSC Bikes and Jock Taylor Sidecar Trophy Race

This weekend, Knockhill will reverberate to the sounds of motorcycle engines being raced on track by over 120 competitors across the six Knockhill Motor Sports Club Classes.

This weekend also sees the welcome return of the Scottish Sidecars, with the prestigious Jock Taylor Memorial Trophy up for grabs during Sunday’s race meeting. The Jock Taylor Trophy is still a coveted prize and the British Sidecar Championship pairing of Stephen Kershaw and Stuart Clark come back to defend the title they won in 2014, 2017 and 2018. They’ll face stiff competition from the Scottish and English pairings of Shand/Belsey and Holden/Lawrence respectively. It’s great to have another Holden back aboard a sidecar at Knockhill with George Holden – son of John Holden winner of two Isle of Man TT sidecar races – set to tackle the twists and turns of Knockhill for the fist time.

Appearing
alongside the sidecar competitors, we’ll have action from our regular competing
classes including:

  • Scottish Championship Lightweights – Sponsored by Shirlaws
  • Scottish Championship Formula 600s
  • Scottish CB500s
  • KMSC 125s & KMSC F400s Sponsored by Skinner Motorcycles
  • Scottish Championship Superbikes & KMSC Clubman – Sponsored by Scotwaste
  • Scottish Pre Injection 600 – Sponsored by Cupar Motorcycles

It’s a bumper 32-race schedule this weekend with most classes racing up to five times over the course of the weekend (four for the sidecars with the Jock Taylor race taking place on Sunday). We’ll see warm up and qualifying on Saturday until lunchtime and racing action afterwards for the remainder of the day.

Action from the 2018 Event

Sunday will see a quick ten minute warm up for all classes before we embark on an 18-race schedule which will take place over the 1.27miles of Knockhill’s Reverse track. Tickets are available for the event via the Knockhill website – subject to advanced booking discounts. Weekend tickets are also available and tickets can also be purchased on the gate.

Look forward to seeing all you 2-wheel and 3-wheel fans here this weekend.
