Alan Gow talks to DuncV

Yesterday, Dunc managed to grab a few words with Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship Series Director Alan Gow.  With the BTCC set to undergo another transformation in 2022 with the introduction of hybrid power, Dunc gets the latest news from the BTCC’s main man.

“Our partners in the hybrid program are Cosworth, and I’m sure everyone will recognise the name. We introduce it in 2022 and no doubt we will be doing a lot of testing well before then.

“It’s an exciting program and will introduce a different element into the BTCC with increased performance and everything else”.

Dunc also questions Gow about the introduction of the soft tyre compound for qualifying at Knockhill for the very first time:

“The soft tyre that Dunlop have is very good and durable enough for around Knockhill. The teams are actually looking forward to it because it adds another element of performance into the weekend which we haven’t had previously,” concluded Gow.

The series itself continues to go from strength-to-strength under Gow’s stewardship and the introduction of hybrid-powered will only help in cementing the BTCC as one of the leading Touring Car Championships in the world.

Make sure you join us this weekend. The action will be super-fast and who knows, perhaps the rear-wheel-drive dominance of years gone by will be a thing of the past. Be here to find out.
