Catching up with ‘The Moff’ ahead of Knockhill

It’s hard to believe that it has been six
years since Aiden Moffat made his BTCC debut at Knockhill when he was just 16
years old. Now, the 22 year old Scot has become a household name in the Kwik
Fit British Touring Car Championship after 174 race starts and 3 race wins.

As the days count down to Aiden’s home
round at Knockhill on 14/15 September – an event sponsored by Lokring Northern
(UK) in association with Liqui Moly, resident TV host Duncan Vincent travelled
to the team’s HQ in Livingston to sound out ‘The Moff’ about his homecoming.

In a bold statement of intent earlier this
year, the Laser Tools Racing team switched from the Ciceley Motorsport built
Mercedes-Benz A-Class to an Infiniti Q50 previously raced in the BTCC by the Support Our Paras Racing squad.

Aiden and the team have resigned
themselves to a year of learning… however, the times are beginning to tumble
out on track and there are a few more investigative eyes watching what the
Laser Tools squad do with the car.

Further testing and additional
feedback from former BTCC Champion Ash Sutton on a recent test might just see
the Infiniti come out swinging at Knockhill.

Let’s hope so.

Remember, tickets for the event can
be booked online via the Knockhill website (subject to advanced booking
discounts). Our postal deadline for tickets is 12pm this Wednesday (11th
September); any tickets purchased beyond this point will be held at the circuit
for collection on the day of your visit.

Look forward to seeing you here.
