Rory Skinner eyeing top 6 success in 2022

The 2022 Bennetts British Superbike Championship season starts in earnest this weekend when all the UK’s top team head to Snetterton Circuit for the first official BSB test of the season. Young Scots hopeful Rory Skinner popped into the Circuit today for some media duties with BBC, and so we managed to grab hold of him to discuss the upcoming Superbike race season.

Rory made a tremendous impact on the Championship last season, particularly at Knockhill, where we walked away with his first BSB podiums (2) and first ever BSB pole position. With a host of upgrades being dialled into his race bike for 2022 – the Perth racer just cannot wait to sit aboard the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki this weekend.

Rory and the team have been working hard over the winter, with Rory working directly with Loughborough University alongside his team-mate Lee Jackson to improve his fitness ahead of the 2022 season. He’s made some good improvements that he hopes will stand him in good stead this season.

Rory has some realistic targets ahead of the new season that include:

“Once I figured out the Superbike last season, I was gaining more confidence on the bike as the season progressed, featuring inside the top ten consistently. This season my goal is to make some inroads into the top six – and if I can do that, then I’ll be really happy.

The Team have given me a terrific package and if the upgrades are as good as we think, there is no reason why we can’t be up there. I’m as fit as I have ever been and mentally as strong as I have ever been, so, we’ll see how testing goes and take it from there.”

The Bennetts BSB comes back to Knockhill over the weekend of 17/18/19 June and if Rory can pull off another performance like last year, then all the Scots racing fans will have plenty to cheer about that weekend.

Tickets can be booked online via the www.knockhill.com website.
