Adam to test BTCC BMW at Brands

Franchitti aims to mark comeback with win

Almost a year after he last raced in single-seaters, Dario Franchitti signalled his return to Champs Cars by posting the third-quickest time in pre-qualifying for Sunday’s race at Surfers’ Paradise in Australia. And the 35-year-old Scot, who won the IndyCar Championship and Indy500 last season, believes he can mark his comeback with victory.

Bathgate’s Paul Di Resta struck the first psychological blow ahead of Sunday’s German Touring Car Championship shoot-out at Hockenheim when he posted the fastest time in free practice with his final lap of the day.

Bogie clinches UK title and Rally GB drive

One of Scotland’s most promising rally youngsters, David Bogie, made up for narrowly missing out on the Scottish Rally Championship by clinching the Mitsubishi UK Evolution title in North Wales. In doing so he bagged himself a works drive in Rally GB.

Scots trio eye victory at FFord Festival

Scotland’s trio of young single-seater racers all qualified for tomorrow’s semi-finals of the prestigious Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch in Kent.  While Edinburgh’s Graham Carroll won his qualifying heat in confident style, Glasgow’s David Brown finished second in his race with Dunfermline’s Rory Butcher fifth.
